I’m a pretty big fan of both Schenn brothers.  I was really, really hoping that Brian Burke could work something out at last year’s draft and snatch Brayden Schenn from the clutches of Dean Lombardi and the Los Angeles Kings, to give him a chance to suit up with his brother Luke.  This didn’t really happen, so I guess it saved me a bit of money in not having to collect Brayden’s cards when he hits the NHL.

Still, I was hoping to be able to snag myself a nice card or two just to have in the collection.  I was hoping for a Wheat Kings card or something in a Team Canada jersey.  When Superlative came out, featuring swatches from the sleeves of the Wheaties jerseys, I knew I had found the card I wanted.  Its a great find for me – I grew up on a farm, and my favorite song ever is ‘Wheat Kings’ by The Tragically Hip.

I snagged this card on eBay for about $30 shipped.  It is still in its ITG toploader, although I cropped it out of the scan.  As with most of my sealed ITG cards, the sticker is already starting to come off.
